Cannabidiol (CBD) is among the most famous phytocannabinoids (organic compounds found in hemp) in the health and wellness industry for its many potential benefits. Unlike its cousin THC also found in marijuana, CBD is not intoxicating or psychoactive. CBD began its rise to fame in 1984 when scientists discovered that our bodies have an endocannabinoid system which regulates processes through our brain, endocrine, and immune systems.
The human body has a vast network of receptors, called the endocannabinoid system. This helps us maintain overall wellness and keeps many of our physical processes moving in the right direction. CBD binds with these receptors, helping the body in its efforts to keep us in good health.
While there is still plenty of mainstream confusion over the legality of CBD oil (largely because many other cannabinoids, such as THC, are not legal), the CBD compound is not included under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and is legal to buy, sell and consume in the UK.
As CBD is still a relatively recently discovered compound, the full benefits are still being researched. Anecdotally, the benefits of CBD oil include supporting our bodies in returning to a more balanced state; regulating mood and relaxing our bodies without the ‘high’ of THC.
We use a blend of both broad spectrum and distilled isolate to create a high quality and effective CBD oil. These two distilling processes are as follows.
Broad Spectrum contains an array of naturally occurring cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids from the original hemp source. These compounds work together in an "Entourage Effect," multiplying potential health benefits. This includes many active
cannabinoids, except THC.
Isolate is created by removing all other molecules, except CBD, from the Full Spectrum extract, leaving the CBD in an anhydrous state. All that remains is a white powder that is high purity CBD. This powder is added into various CBD Isolate products such as oils, edibles, topicals, and vapes.
